Christmas in Washington DC 2009
First Lady Michelle Obama and President Barack Obama attended Christmas in Washington DC 2009 concert this Sunday. Michelle Obama in black dress and matching shoes was looking as graceful as ever. At one point the mood during the Christmas in Washington DC 2009 concert became so charged that President sheds a tear and then wipes it. This year’s Christmas in Washington DC was dedicated to the “Children’s National Medical Centre”. The concert featured Mary J. Blige and Neil Diamonds.
Four ‘Santa’s Helpers’ were also there. As four kids came to the stage President and First Lady received them and made them comfortable on the stage. Kids were of mixed ethnicity to give a message that the Christmas in Washington DC 2009 is for all the people living in America regardless of the color or ethnicity. Michelle Obama was absolutely loveable and motherly as she readied the kids for photographers.
President in his speech also emphasized that the celebrations are dedicated to precious moment a child is born. He also stressed that we should not forget our brothers and sisters fighting for us in Iraq and Afghanistan and that Christmas in Washington DC 2009 is about Peace on Earth and helping those who are in need. Star performers adorned the event with Christmas songs.
As Obama addressed the crowd, he remained on the stage with First Lady to make the concert a special one by singing carols. Washington DC 2009 concert would be showed on TNT.
